[NEWS] TVXQ Defends Crown For The Second Year As K-pop Group Who Has Expanded Their Influence The Most Globally During First Half Of 2013!

You voted, and we listened - TVXQ has officially been named 'the K-Pop group who has expanded their influence the most globally during the first half of 2013.'
For Stage 1 of our semi-annual KpopStarz reader poll we asked you to tell us what you think by voting from July 8-14 for the K-Pop group who has shown the farthest international reach so far this year.
The votes have been counted, and although the race was a close one, TVXQ have come out on top as the winners with 36.95% of the votes!
Stage 1 was particularly tight as runner-up JYJ was not far behind with 34.43% of the vote.
Adding a little more interest and tension to the vote, as many fans are already aware of, the three JYJ members are former TVXQ group mates. The first stage of this year's KpopStarz semi-annual reader poll thus turned out to be a battle between members of the same original group!
TVXQ initially started as a five-member boy band under SM Entertainment in 2003. The group originally contained members Yunho, Changmin, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu until 2009 when the latter three singers filed suit against their record label subsequently leaving the group completely.
TVXQ then continued on as a pop duo with just Yunho and Changmin whilt Jaejoong Yoochun, and Junsu went on to form the triad JYJ.
Since TVXQ's official return as a duo in 2011, Yunho and Changmin have taken their music to fans all around the world. Since late 2012, the two have been playing concerts across the world as part of the TVXQ World Tour Catch Me in support of their sixth studio album.
Their far-reaching appeal is no doubt a result of TVXQ's unique sound and style that blends elements of rap, rock, dance, electronic, ballad, and, of course, a capella.
This year TVXQ has gone completely global holding concerts around Asia as well as in North and South America.
It is no surprise then that you fans voted them as the K-Pop group to expand their influence the most globally this year.
In a respectable third place finish, this year's dark horse was girl group f(x) with 4.62% of the votes.
Both holding wildly successful international tours this year, Super Junior and B.A.P finished out the top five with 4.01% and 1.93% of the votes, respectively.

Ahead of his official Korean comeback, Kim Hyun Joong will be releasing a new track and music video for his long awaiting fans.
On July 15, KeyEast announced that Kim Hyun Joong will release a new track “Unbreakable” off of his upcoming third mini album ‘Round 3’ on July 18 at noon (KST). A music video for the song will be released as well, bringing more excitement.
Along the exciting announcement, Kim Hyun Joong released new teaser image for ‘Round 3’, showing a traditional Korean mask. The mini album will be officially released on July 22.

Setelah konser pertamanya di tahun 2012, Sungha Jung datang lagi ke Indonesia untuk kedua kalinya. Masih sama seperti tahun sebelumnya, gitaris muda asal Korea Selatan ini akan menggelar konser di dua kota di Indonesia, yakni Bandung dan Jakarta.
Konser bertajuk Sungha Jung Indonesia Tour 2013 rencananya digelar Oktober 2013 mendatang. Kota pertama yang akan Sungha Jung datangi adalah Bandung, tepatnya di Edelweis Hall Gedung Wahana Bakti Pos tanggal 12 Oktober 2013. “Destiny” music video was reportedly filmed at Universal Studio in the U.S., which popular Hollywood movies like Transformer and Spider Man were shot. It was directed by Zanybros’ Hong Won Ki, one of the best Korean MV directors who have worked with top singers like Seo Tae ji and Girls’ Generation.
INFINITE also released its new mini album ‘Destiny’ consisting of four tracks in total. In addition to the title track, it also contains tracks “Inception,” “Going To You” and ballad track “Mom”. Kang Seung Yoon makes official debut with “It Rains”

Kang Seung Yoon, a former contestant on the survival audition program “Superstar K2”, is finally making his solo debut on the music scene with the release of his single, “It Rains”.
Yang Hyun Suk announced earlier that instead of releasing the hard-rock tune “Wild And Young”, Kang Seung Yoon decided to release another track for the current rainy season in Korea.
He explained, “As rainy seasons continue, we’ve decided to release the song, ‘It Rains,’ first and then to release ‘Wild and Young’ at the end of July when the hot summer season starts.”
Meanwhile, Kang Seung Yoon’s mini-album is scheduled to be released in early September.

The group’s label, Simtong Entertainment, announced their comeback by releasing new teaser photos, showing GI members with a more fierce concept.
“Because Of You” is actually a preview track which will be released on July 3rd ahead of the release of GI’s first mini album this August.
GI consists of five members, Hayeon, OneKet, Eunji, AI and Aram. The group is dubbed as “tomboy” or “boyish” girl group as they are going for a stronger and more forceful image.

Jaejoong hmmed and took the initiative to reach out and take the pen from the fan. He made eye contact with the fan when she shouted his name. As said, his face is very skinny and very white. He didn't shave and his lips are the same jellyish texture as seen in photos.
Fan used English to tell Jaejoong that she is a Chinese fan and Jaejoong replied thank you in Chinese. After signing, manager used English to say thanks, and Jaejoong thanked the fan. The fan then thanked both of them.
Jaejoong and manager continued to rest for a while. He was drinking soda and he smoked. He then played some games on a black Samsung phone passed to him by his manager. Before leaving, Jaejoong looked around to see if there is rubbish bin or such to throw his rubbish away. (Good idol~! ?)

Six passionate K-Pop fans will be chosen to star as cast of #mykpop
Following their journey to KCON 2013 in LA 8/24-25
LOS ANGELES (July XX, 2013) – Mnet America, a youth entertainment brand for all things Asian cool, is calling upon the biggest K-pop fans in the country to audition for the cast of its new reality series #mykpop airing this Fall. This series will document the K-Pop boom that has been occurring worldwide following the lives of six chosen cast members. The series will end with these six cast members flying to Los Angeles to take part in North America’s biggest Korean pop culture convention and concert, KCON 2013. Produced by Mnet America, KCON 2013 is will take place August 24- 25, 2013 at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.
Interested K-Pop fans can audition to be one of six special #mykpop cast members by following the submission guidelines below:
1. Applicants should show through photos or videos that they are the most unique and enthusiastic K-pop fan ever and what makes K-pop so special to them.
2. Through photos or videos, applicants should show where and how they watch Mnet America: On TV at home? On a laptop or iPad at the library?
3. In a paragraph applicants should explain the story behind their love for K-pop; how they discovered K-pop; what they love about K-pop; how it affects their daily life; and what makes them the most interesting and passionate K-pop fan.
4. If chosen for the second round, candidates will participate in a brief phone interview with Mnet America.
5. Submit all materials to events@mnetamerica.com.

Which Scenes Did the Cast of “Monstar” Pick as Their Favorites?
At the July 9 press conference for the currently airing drama Mnet’s “Monstar,” the cast discussed which scenes were their “Best One Minute.”
Female lead Ha Yeon Soo picked a scene in episode one in which she sang “The Wind Blows.” “The Wind Blows” was originally sung by veteran singer Lee Sora, and in the drama, Ha Yeon Soo and her co-star Kang Eui Sik sang it together in a sad but beautiful harmony. Ha Yeon Soo was supporting Kang Eui Sik as he was getting bullied by his fellow classmates. Ha Yeon Soo said, “I remember it more since it was the first song I sang in the drama. The scene was even better since Eui Sik oppa is a veteran.”
Kang Eui Sik plays the role of Kyu Dong, bullied in class because of a past incident, and called the “Human Radio” because his classmates make him sing whenever they feel like it. He said of that duet scene with Ha Yeon Soo, “Because it was the first music scene, the filming was difficult. But I feel more attached to that scene because many people still talk about it.”

Kang Ha Neul said, “I’ve always like ‘I Will Love You.’ I want to sing this song to my bride when I get married later. I was particularly pleased because I got to play the guitar as I sang the song in the scene.”
Park Kyu Sun picked his favorite scene as the one in which he covered 2NE1's “I Am the Best” in the drama. He said, “Many people, especially beatboxers, asked me if I did it myself. I didn’t do it live [at the scene]; it was a recording. We put in the buzzing sound and the rest was looped in.”

TVXQ Membuat Majalah di Jepang Laris untuk Pertama Kalinya Sejak 30 Tahun Diterbitkan
‘PATi PATi’ adalah majalah musik di Jepang yang belum pernah selama 30 tahun ini laris manis, sampai TVXQ menjadi model halaman depannya.
Terbukti bahwa TVXQ memiliki popularitas di Jepang yang tidak bisa diikuti oleh artis lainnya.
Duo TVXQ ini muncul di halaman depan majalah musik bulanan itu untuk edisi Agustus. Penerbitnya berkomentar, “Di Jepang, ini sangat langka untuk sebuah majalah yang laku habis terjual. Kami kebanjiran pesanan sejak detik pertama daftar reservasi dibuka, jadi kami memutuskan untuk mencetak ulang isu tentang TVXQ. Ini kali pertamanya sejak 30 tahun majalah ini ada.”
Penerbit menekankan bahwa keputusan untuk mencetak ulang majalah adalah kejadian yang pertama sejak ‘PATi PATi’ diciptakan pada tahun 1984.

Pada episode MBC FM4U ‘Kim Shin Young’s Midday Song of Hope’ yang tayang pada 9 Juli kemarin, aktor Kim Woo Bin hadir sebagai bintang tamu.
Dalam show tersebut, dia menyatakan bahwa, “Aku sangat berterimakasih kepada orang-orang yang semakin mengenalku belakangan ini. Setelah aku bertambah populer, agensiku memberi hadiah sebuah mobil yang lebih besar dari sebelumnya. Itu memang bukan mobil pribadiku, namun aku gunakan untuk karirku.
